Inefficiency: The administration of German companies wastes 1/3 of their working time!
the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing, Engineering and Automation IPA in Stuttgart found in a study of which excerpts were published in „manager-magazin.de“ under the article Triumph of Inefficiency:
“About 1/3 of working time is wasted in the administration of German companies. This is by
- necessary corrections and queries, for example when forms were not properly or insufficiently filled out;
- double work, because (for example) the competence was not cleared;
- waiting for urgent recalls or reports;
- meetings begin delayed or proliferate in terms of time.”
Per a recent survey with Czech managers the “be-efficient” team found a similar situation, for example managers believe they spend 30% of their time to clarify tasks by e-mail.
The real reasons for inefficiency in companies are not bad technical equipment, insufficient forms or unclear duties. It has to do with the personal ability and discipline to work, to do a job, to relay information, etc. of people (managers and employees).
We would like to do something about this. We know about the reasons an individual manager or employee works inefficiently. We can do something about it. You can do something about it and improve your own and your team’s efficiency.
The first step is to find out what you think of your own efficiency:
Are you yourself and the people around you efficient or inefficient? |
